About Snowhill Tile

Clay has been a part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. When I was a little girl, I loved digging up the clay in my backyard, making little pots decorated with sticks and acorns, & letting them dry in the sun. After earning a BA in Ceramics from Meredith College, I owned a successful ceramics business in the historic pottery community of Seagrove NC for years, and I began to focus on ceramic tile. After marrying my husband in 2016, I stepped away from clay a few years ago to spend more time with our boys. Now that they’re getting older, I’ve been feeling the pull to get back into the studio. I’m so excited about this new phase of my relationship with clay, and this new work that I‘m making from the studio near Boone, in the gorgeous NC mountains! Every piece is made completely by hand by me—I don’t use any molds or presses, which means that no 2 tiles are ever alike!

Please email me with any special requests—I love to work with clients on special pieces or installations! —Laura Gullie
